PC turns off randomly but fans still run

My PC turns off randomly without even a warning beep or nothing but the power seems to flow through the motherboard just fine. Because all the fans still running and the HDD also seems to be running as well since i can feel it spinning when i kept my hand on top of the HDD.

The monitor display goes out as if it were a normal shutdown. And this problem first started when i was playing a game, after that it continued even when my PC was idle. During the sudden shutdown the HDD ACTIVITY LED does not blink at all.

P.S. Now the shutdowns are kind of timed since it is happening every 30 minutes or so and i am just using simple applications like chrome.

AMD FX 6300
Sapphire ATi R9 270X
Corsair 4GB DDR3 Ram
Corsair CX 500 V1 PSU
Msi 760GM-P21-FX Motherboard

CPU is 10 months old and is fitted with a stock cooler.

I've had a nearly same issue.. The problem was the stock cooler. It sucks! You should get something more powerful..

try to monitor your system temps
(cpu, GPU, chipset, etc) using something like HWMonitor or EVEREST.
They might give you a better clue to what is crapping out.

Checked the temps and everything is quite normal....nothing past 50 degrees

why change the cooler since the cpu temp is actually normal as i have checked in H/W Monitor

Wait it just touched 62 degrees in idle.....do i need to change the whole cooler or is just changing the thermal paste enough?
