Hi,so I built this PC july, and it was all going well, every game i installed ran smoothly ,even though they were not really that demanding (League of Legends,Elder Scrolls Online,Skyrim,Apex Legends are the main ones I played. But,when August came,my PC started turning off for no reason. On top of that,Apex Legends started lagging(Keep in mind I had every settings on high except texture streaming budget which I kept on medium, and it ran smoothly with no lag spike whatsoever). To be specific,it lags when you are about to drop, and I'm not talking about going frm 60 to 55 fps,I'm talking about going frm 60 to 24).Also,this lag does not occur every day, somedays it lags, other days it rans pretty well, and i dont know why.At first I thought it ran badly due to the GPU overheating but I fixed that and the game still runs poorly.Yesterday I used a site that estimates the Watts your PC needs, and it turns out that my PSU is weak.Thoughts?

My Build:
GPU: MSI GTX 1050-ti
CPU: Intel Core i5 8400
Ram: Team Vulcan 2x8 GB
Motherboard: Gigabyte B360M DS3H
HDD: Western Digital 1TB
SSD: (I don't remember) 240 GB
PSU: EVGA 500 BR
Case (Idk if it matters or not) Deepcool Matrexx 55

Thanks!

Have you opened the case and checked all cables connections, card seatings, etc.? Something may have worked itself loose due to heating and cooling cycles (expansion/contraction).

Watts: what wattage did you tally up with respect to your PC? Add 25%. Check the wattage using two or three of those calculators - determine if there is a consensus about the wattage requirements. Was the PSU new when installed?

You can also use Reliability History and Event Viewer to look for error codes and warnings that occur around the time of the lags.

Even more useful could be opening Resource Monitor or Task Manager to observe system performance. First while doing nothing, second while doing light work and browsing, and third while gaming.

Just leave the window open and drag to one side. Watch for trends and %'s that coincide with the lags.
