A few months ago I built my first PC It was running great, very proud of myself, and then one day as I'm getting ready to go to bed, it shuts off, figuring it was a windows auto-update I figured I would turn it on in the morning. The Next day it would turn on but no display, all fans came on, all lights, everything (don't have a speaker to plug in so I don't know if there was a beep)

Things I have tried.

  • Resetting CMOS
    1 Stick of ram
    Paperclip PSU test (passed)
Unplugging EVERYTHING and plugging it back in
    Switching VGA cords
    Switching VGA slots
Reset button on front of computer
Unplugging all external devices while trying to turn on

Parts:

AMD A10 processor
ASRock FM2A75 mobo
Corsair CX600W PSU
VisionTek Radeon HD graphics card

If you need any other parts just ask.

There is one thing I found strange, As soon as I turn on the PSU the computer turns on and when I try to hold down the power button to shut it off, it flashes off for 2 seconds and comes back on.

Solution
Now that is strange. The speaker may be defective or improperly connected. You should have had a beep with the RAM removed.

Try it again with only CPU, PSU, RAM, and speaker connected to the motherboard. If still no beep, try it again with the RAM removed.
If there is still no beep, then you have narrowed it down to the motherboard or CPU (probably motherboard). Installing another working CPU will eliminate the CPU leaving a bad motherboard. Or you can take it to a repair shop to determine which is bad.

That motherboard should have an AMI BiOS. I've included the beep codes below.

Tried/Checked all steps (except breadboarding) and still get same results. Also my GPU only plugs into motherboard no wires no fans, Does this mean it's a lower quality? should I get a better one?

I'm also worried that my PSU is too much wattage for the build, it's a 600 watt psu and yet when I go on my PC Partpicker build with the same parts it says the system is only about 300 watts

If your GPU only plugs into the PCI Express slot, that only means that it doesn't require additional power from your PSU. A higher end graphics card would indeed need extra power.

Your PSU wattage is fine. I don't adhere to the line that you have to have just enough wattage to get by. Most typical office PC's can get by on 300 - 400 watt power supply.

If you do not have access to a motherboard speaker, it does limit your troubleshooting. Do you have an electronics store nearbuy, (Radioshack, BestBuy, ect.)? A motherboard speake is cheap.

Alright I went out to Micro Center and they didn't have one, but while I was out there I snagged a power supply still getting same results, anything I can do before getting a mobo speaker?
