Replaced power suply which i know is enough, new cpu - i5 4690. Both replaced. At 1st i thought it was the power. Did a part by part check and it was still doing the same thing which is why i thought it was the psu but when it was still having the same issue i realised it wouls be the cpu so i got a new one.....but still the same......

Need help badly as i have spent too much on an old rig. Need to know what you guys think. Is it the motherboard??

When you are upgrading cpu there is a chance that before that you need to update the bios as if the cpu came out after u brought the motherboard, chances are that cpu was not supported by the motherboard with this particular update u currently got.

Have u tried just having the old cpu withe the new psu? If it boots up with the old cpu, very good chance ur bios is not up to date to upgrade to a newer cpu.

Other solutions are: Ram not inserted properly (this happens was too often, u need 1 click on both ends), uncompatible ram (this is less likely but some cpus have struggle with ram), you have bent the pins when u were inserting the cpu and finally, make sure all the power cords are properly in. It may be that u havent plugged in everything properly.

It started with the old cpu. Atm i have 750w psu, r9 390x - not o/c , new cpu -i5 4690 old one is 4670 , z87x ud3h gigabyte , Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 Vengeance 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) x2

If it started for no apparent reason while u still had ur old components in, then chances are this is a motherboard problem. It might have died. How old was it?
