The other day my i7-7820x rig just stopped working out of nowhere in middle of day. I went to wake up screens by moving mouse and the monitor never woke up. I forced a shutdown and turned it on again and the motherboard lights all lit up, my AIO pump lights lit up and all case fans operate and light up. But monitors never wake up at all.

To troubleshoot I tried a different monitor, different cable, different GPU, a different PCIe slot and all had same results. Im thinking my motherboard is what died even though it seems to be receiving power. I figured if it was the CPU i would at least get some kind of message on screens or monitors would at least wake up when system powered on. If Im wrong about that than please correct me. Ive heard of PSU causing issues with things at times when they are on their way out but i replaced that last year just for the hell of it when i replaced the original AIO it had in it which died.

specs- The PC was originally built mid 2018

i7-7820x
Asus TUF X299 MARK 2
Visiontek AMD Radeon 7750 SFF Single-Fan 2GB GDDR5 Eyefinity GPU
G.Skill Ripjaws V 64GB (4 x 16GB) DDR4-3200
Corsair (2021) RM550x
Corsair iCUE H100i RGB Pro XT

Anybody have any thoughts on what i should try next or do you think im right and should just buy new mobo?

Thanks in advance!

Might want to see if a reliably built replacement PSU, borrowed(not bought) from a friend or neighbor that has the right amount of connectors and has 650W of power at your entire system's disposal. I would also inspect the entire motherboard for any blown or bulging capacitors. Did you ever encounter a black out/power surge?

Your motherboard has a function dubbed CrashFree BIOS 3;
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/...F_X299_MARK2_UM_WEB.pdf?model=TUF X299 MARK 2
page 3-29, section 3.11.3, give that a whirl if the replacement PSU doesn't help.

I had an older EVGA 750 G3 laying around. I just hooked that up to it and had same results. No power surge that i know of. Also, tried looking at all the capacitors on mobo and didnt see any that were blown.

After looking at the motherboards manual and further inspecting the board i now realize that there are other lights on it that should be lighting up which dont. None of the POST state leds (at top of board) light up at all when i turn on PC. Plus, the standby power led(at bottom) is solid orange the entire time and i believe that should turn green at one point. Im also not hearing any beeps from the internal speaker when i turn it on. But again, the rgb's work and my AIO pump lights up.

With that new information Im still thinking it has to be the motherboard because shouldnt i at least be hearing the Bios beeps at startup and/or seeing something from the POST lights?
