Hi all!
Recently I bought a used PC from someone who's selling everything in bulk. It came with a Xeon and a LGA775-mod so it'd fit in a regular LGA775 motherboard. When I have a graphics card installed everything boots, yet no video will appear on the monitor. I'm using the VGA port on the graphics card(s). Whenever there's no graphics card inserted, it'll just beep a few times. I've tried the build with two graphics cards yet neither of them seem to work.
Whenever I power the PC on, fans start spinning (loudly) and I hear no beeps.
Specs:
400W PSU / 350 W PSU
Xeon E5420 @2.5 GHz
EVGA e-Geforce 9800 GTX - 512 MB VRAM / Some old ASUS card
2x4 GB DDR2 (667)
Acer rc415t-am Micro-ATX Motherboard
Things I've tried already:
Swapping out the RAM,
Re-applying cooling-paste to the processor,
Swapping out the PSU,
Swapping out the Graphics Card
Unusual stuff about my build:
I'm using a 2x MOLEX to 6-PIN PCIE adapter because the PSU only comes with one and the GTX needs two,
The processor has a really damn big cooler on top of it, so I'm certain that's not the issue,
I've reset the BIOS by removing the CMOS battery for about an hour.
My best guess is that because the LGA775 Motherboard wants to use the integrated graphics of a regular CPU, but it's unable to because the processor is a Xeon. Then again, shouldn't it autimatically route to the GPU?
Any and all help is kindly appreciated!
