Pc turns on, no hdd light, no video. Fans turn on but nothing happens.

I received a custom built pc from my uncle and it worked fine at first, except every once in a while it would just turn off and restart. Then it started to always do that on the first boot( i would turn on the pc and it would turn off after like 5 min, no problems after that), now it wont even turn on, this had happened a few months ago and i got very frustrated so i called quits and unplugged everything (left it like that for about a month) then for whatever reason I decided to turn it on and see what happens. Then surprise everything worked and I had no problems, well now i am and i am trying to figure out what's wrong. Here's what i have done so far: Cleared the CMOS, took out the gpu and reinstalled, took out the ram and reinstalled, plugged all the wires out and back in. I have no idea what else to do, someone please help.

Try replacing the CMOS battery with a new one and testing different power supply.
