Hi, I currently have a PC which is around 6-7 years old. I'd prefer not to buy a new one but it has been running a touch slowly lately.

Any advice which items I should upgrade to bring me into 2017 and buy me another 5-7 years.

Current Spec:
Intel Core i7 2600 (3.40Ghz / 8MB)
Gigabyte GA-Z68MA-D2HB3 Intel Z68
GTX 960 GPU (1.5 years old)
2x G.Skill 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 (16Gig Ram)
Corsair 120GB SSD, 2.5", Force 3 Series, SATAIII
Fractal Design Define R3 PC Case
Antec 750W TruePower ATX Power Supply
Windows 10
and a LG GH22NS70 DVD drive

My main usage is gaming. I play a lot of overwatch so not typically over intensive, mainly blizz games. Some photoshop / Sketch up design software and basic web browsing, office tools.

If I need to give any more info just let me know. I'm ok at computers but need help when it comes to hardware upgrades.

Cheers in advance.

ps. Budget is around $500-$800. I'd prefer not to spend over $1000 but I could possibly space out the spending over a few months if I had to.

Solution
Ed for TechSource made a $600 Ryzen 5 build recently here are the specs:

CPU:1500X ($189): http://bit.ly/2oVO8Uz
Motherboard:MSI B350M ($80): http://amzn.to/2praZUb
G.SKILL 2X4GB ($60): http://amzn.to/2prb7mD
WD 1TB ($50): http://amzn.to/2pr5GnG
RAM:ASUS RX 470 4GB ($160): http://bit.ly/2ox6z0O
CASE:AZZA COSMAS ($35): http://bit.ly/2p3CIhj
PSU:EVGA 430W ($30): http://amzn.to/2oqkxkH
(Total: $604)

You might want to upgrade the CPU from a 1500x to a 1600 you can also upgrade the gpu from an RX 470 to an RX 480 or GTX 1060 if you don't mind spending a couple of bucks more.

I'm pretty sure it's this guy
ASUS GeForce GTX 960 Strix DirectCU II OC 2GB
Will double check when I get home though

I didn't buy it that long ago so would prefer not to upgrade this component if it's less crucial than something else.

$500-800. If everything is shit and I need to spend more :( I can just prioritise things and space it out over a few months maybe.

The biggest annoyances is it's just starting to boot slow and programs are taking longer to load etc.

Having a EVGA 430W at $600 should already be a major red flag.

Hopefully 30-50°C idle and below 75°C while gaming.
