[SOLVED] pc upgrade around 300euro cpu+ram

thinking about upgrading the system.
I want to sell cpu+ram and with some other money get a Ryzen 5 3600 and 16gb ram.

Make sure you flash your BIOS first.

Yeah, a 1400 is going to bottleneck a 480 but only in the most extreme situations, most of the time it will be fairly minimal depending on the resolution and settings.

A 3600 + 16GB of 3200 Vengeance should work out fine and be around €240

Sounds like that someone was full of it, as this is entirely dependent on the games you play + resolution and graphics settings.

That said, you need to include a new power supply. That's not something to be running an RX 480 with.

What the hell...
RX 580 is a preoverclocked 480. There's very little difference between the two cards.

I think you need to take your buddy's advice with a grain of salt...

As stated above a RX 580 is a refresher card that is slightly overclocked which makes it slightly faster and not much of an upgrade, these are upgraded as the FPS gain would warrant the cost, none of these will come cheap, the lower price in this list is a used 1070 TI at around $220+.

I suggest you stop listening to your friend he clearly has no clue. You need to do the CPU/ RAM upgrade and make the judgment call for yourself because just the CPU upgrade alone @ 1080p will give you something like a 20+ fps gain in every title that isn't GPU dependant.
