Hey everyone,

I'm looking to upgrade my PC to play the games in the title (preferably at high/ultra settings). My specs are:

Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 1GB GDDR5
8 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 (1600 but running at 1333mhz due to my cpu)
AMD Phenom II 965 BE @ 3.4 GHz
2 TB 7200 rpm HDD
650 Watt Corsair Power Supply

I'm running games on 1680 x 1050.

Do I NEED to upgrade? Or should I be okay?

If I need to upgrade I've been thinking maybe doing a eight core AMD cpu or doing a Microcenter bundle of 4670k + MOBO. As for GPU maybe a R9 270x or 280x.

What is everyone's thoughts? If I decided to just upgrade to a R9 270x would my CPU severly bottleneck it? I feel comfortable on looking at benchmarks/hierarchy but I never know which part bottlenecks an other part.

Thanks!

well you cpu would be the weak part off your pc and maybe even start to bottleneck you r9-270X also why not go for an hd 7870 they are pretty much the same as an r9-270x but cheaper. i would recommend an upgrade. An fx 8320 or fx 6300 is an nice upgrade from a phenom

Thanks for the quick response guys!

The reason I'm thinking about upgrading is I tried out Ghosts this morning before work and it seemed to be having some serious issues even on low-medium settings. So I'm not sure if that's optimization issues or because I definitely need an upgrade.

Either way, in the next year I plan on upgrading so the advice is still very helpful.

Anyone else have any suggestions?
