Alright so I'm planning on upgrading my current self built PC rig and before I spend any money I just wanted to know if theres any choices I should change. I have no idea if I should bother getting a "gaming motherboard" from Asus like the Asus Maximus VII Hero because the most hard graphical game I play is the Witcher 3 and GTA V. I also have a NZXT Source 210 case and it says in order for me to install a 980 I need to remove drive cages (which I have no idea if I should do or just buy 2 ok smaller GPUs)

What I'm upgrading to-
Motherboard - Asus Z97-A ATX
GPU - EVGA GeForce 980
CPU - i7-4790K
Fan Controller - NZXT Sentry Mix 2

Solution
Should be fine unless you have need of the cages that need to be removed, the Z97-A/4790K along with the 980 will make for a great rig. Have 9 builds on the Z97-A and it's a great mobo
