PC upgrade! is it worth it?

So ive had this pc for a while since 2014-2015

- intel i7 4770
- GTX 970 oc
- Giga H97M-D3H
- 16 Gb DDR3 1600 Kingston Hyper X
- HD 1 Tera Western Digital
- SSD Kingston V300 120GB 2.5

im thinking on upgrading the CPU to a i7 6700k, which idk if its compatible with the motherboard but I assume it is. Is the the 6700k good for editing? Then buying a gamer monitor 144hz because ive been playing on a 60hz monitor for some years. and the last change is getting a new SSD and maybe HD and RAM to a 2400hz. Is the upgrade worth it, it is a minimal update, im not going ham with the upgrade, im still saving for sometime in the future to change the whole PC. Question in a nutshell is the upgrade any good?

the 6700k will not work with your current motherboard i wwould recommend getting a i7 4790k. it will be cheaper than new ram and motherboard plus a simple and slight overclock to 4.6ghz will beat out the 6700k. if you want editing then instead of 6700k you should be aiming for a ryzen 5 2600x or 2700x depending on how serious of an editor you are.
