i have upgraded my pc with new motherboard asus prime b350m-a a cpu ryzen 2400g and 8gb ddr4 ram it turns on and gets to the black windows error recovery page wherer it says
launch startup repair (recommended)
launch windows normally
if i launch normally a blue screen flashs up and it restarts if i do repair it it goes to blue screen and stays there till i turn pc off my disc drive wont read the windows 10 cd but it will windows 7 and if i try to boot from it it goes to blue page the page says

the bios in this system is not fully acpi compliant. please contact your system vendor for an updated bios

Stop: 0x000000A5

i can access the bios and have updated the bios to the newest version still doesnt work i have read that there is a way to turn off acpi in bios but cant find how to do it allso i have read that the cpu wont work on windows 7 and my harddrive has windows 7 installed on it from previous build could this be causing the problem please any help would be appreciated

I recommend you just make a new bootable usb stick and see if that fixes it.

this is normal because your new motherbord uses the newer UEFI BIOS. you will need to go into your BIOS and disable the secure boot option to get windows 7 to start.

note this does not mean windows 7 will still boot. windows starting normally is hot or miss when you try to use the same windows install after a major hardware upgrade like that

i have found secure boot in the bios it says secure boot state enabled but it gives me no option to disable it i have the os type set to other os

it would be best at this point to check your motherboard manual to see how to disable it there may be another option you have to turn off first

just checked the manual nothing in there about secure boot i will do some searching online on how to disable it do you think if i get a new fresh harddrive that would sort out the problem i am planning on installing windows 10

it may. it sounds like the problem is too your BIOS may be set to only boot to UEFI BIOS. you should check the settings on how to get itr to boot into legacy mode

you should try the windows cd again but this time go into the boot menu at start and see if there is a boot option for the cd that mentions UEFI
