PC upgrade possible?

Hi guys! I currently have an i7 3820 and a gtx680 EVGA!Since i dont have the budget for a new pc build i think about upgrading my gpu! Any recomendetions? My mobo is MSI X79A-GD65 (8d)! Could i go for the new rtx cards without changing cpu or buing a whole new pc is inevitable? I am intrested in 1080p - min 60fps gaming!

if budget is tight, wait for the gtx 1160/1660/1660Ti, or what ever they will be called. Its a bit less powerful than a rtx 2060 and doesnt have raytracing cores so it will be around 250-300$ and totally enough for 1080p gaming. Should be announced soon.

i go a 1000$ budget! my problem is that maybe the cpu is inadequate with an rtx! what is your opinion?

$200 or less buys you a 1080p/60FPS GPU for today's games
(RX580 = GTX1060)

CPU will work with low end RTX, no doubt about that. 1000$ is a solid budget. Get a GPU of your choice now and wait for ryzen 3000 to be released in mid 2019. Buy a new CPU/MB/RAM then and have a great 1080p pc
