Hi,

I am looking to upgrade my PC

Below is my PC current configuration

1 x Intel Core i5-4440 3.10GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor -
1 x MSI Z87M-G43 Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro-ATX Motherboard
1 x Crucial Ballistix Sport 4GB (1x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 C9 1600MHz Single Module

I am into video and photo editing using Adobe Photoshop CC.

With current configuration photo editing is fine. But for video editing it's very difficult and I wish to upgrade my PC for not more than £50

My plan is get another 4GB RAM and a graphics card which is
MSI GT 710 1GD3H LP

Is it a good upgrade or can I go for 8GB RAM (12GB RAM in total) and avoid buying a graphics card ?

Or can I got for a 4GB graphics card and avoid buying RAM ?

Suggestion please

Please include/list your specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
GPU:
PSU:
OS:

And then we can move forward with suggestions on upgrades. You will also need to include the apps that you're going to use and the resolution at which you wish to edit videos. Adobe's Premiere Pro as well...? You might want to get something like a GTX750Ti or a GTX760 to help you get a leg above what you already have(iGPU, assuming).

If you're upgrading ram, upgrade them like you're buying a pair of shoes. If you loose one shoe out of a pair, you're still going to have to buy one pair from the store. Similarly either work with the same stick of ram to go for dual channel or get a 2x8GB DDR3-1600MHz ram kit. You could look at a DDR3-2133MHz ram kit but that will be costly for you in this day and age.
