Hi, I have a pretty low-end pc that will be dedicated to gaming quite soon, my specs are listed below, what should I upgrade first? Since I have a limited budget and high-end components are pretty expensive, I can not do a big upgrade all at once

AMD A6-5400k
MSI GT640 2GB
MSI FM2-A75MA (with only 1 pci-e x16 slot)
Cooler Master Elite 460 Watts

Hmm...what games are you playing and at what resolution? You're right...they're all gonna have to go eventually (including that PSU, keep an eye on that, those low end Cooler Master units are pretty crappy). Tricky thing is, when it's CPU time, motherboard's gotta go too. What's your budget for part 1? I'd say at this point you want to work on the CPU/mobo combo. The GT 640 is low-end, but I was able to play most games ok on mine earlier this year.

Here's one way to go:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor ($109.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock 970 EXTREME4 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($98.98 @ OutletPC)
Total: $208.97
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

How high end are you looking to go? i'd say get a high end gpu first, but that might necessitate a psu upgrade at the same time depending on how high you're going. You'll definitely see the biggest initial improvement with gpu though.
