[SOLVED] PC Upgrade

Looking to upgrade my current PC. Current set up -

Intel i5 6402P 2.80 GHZ
ASUS H170-PRO
DDR4 8GB
MSI GTX 1070 ti

I play CS:GO, Fortnite and Apex. During intense game play, the computer seems to lag. I am looking to upgrade the CPU to i7 9700K, is this worth it? Would like to keep it between $500-$700.

Given that you're already in a Kaby Lake, I'd make sure the BIOS is updated and grab a 7700k and an identical 8 GB RAM stick to your current one. Then you'll be able to save the rest of your money towards your next GPU upgrade, at some point in the future.
