pc upgrading help

G'day fellow Kiwi

None. There are a couple of two Core Pentiums that run on the LGA775 socket with early Hyperthreading, that was not particularly efficient.

If you want a better CPU consider a Core2 Quad processor.

Anyone that comes to mind? Especially able to buy in nz?

I'm actually a beverage exile, living overseas. I was deported because I don't like beer.

I don't know of any. That's an old socket. LGA1151 is the most recent, LGA2011 before, LGA1150 before, LGA 1156 before, then LGA775.

Do you know anyone coming back from overseas, CPUs are very compact, so it would fit in luggage easily.

Too 'flexible' and I'm too out of touch with that. You will have to look around yourself. You could try asking at a store that specializes in PCs and PC repair. They may have something dead that could be salvaged.
