So I have had my pc for sometime now and I have only ever upgraded my gpu, power supply and added an ssd. I want to upgrade my motherboard, processor, ram and a cooler for the processor but there are so many options I dont know what is best for the price im looking for.

Current spec:
Hp Memphis-s motherboard
2x 8gb DDR3 Ram
i7 4790 processor
Gpu: 1060gtx stix
600watt power supply
120gb ssd
3 tb harddrive

Any suggestions will be really appreciated. Budget is around £600

Your system is pretty decent for doing 1080p gaming. As long as you're sticking with 1080p, you don't need to upgrade anything. However, if you want to move up to 1440p, a card such as a 1070 or 1070 Ti would be better.
If you want to do 2160p(4k) gaming though, you may need to do more(depending on what your CPU actually is)

Sorry my CPU is a i7 4790, im just looking to update everything really i purchased a PC previously took everything apart from the power supply and the graphics card and put it in to a new case. just need to update the processor, the ram and the motherboard. i cant choose between AMD or intel!

Both new AMD and Intel CPU's work great. I went with the Ryzen 7 2700x, 32gb ddr4-3200 & a gtx 1080 Ti. This CPU is apparently overkill for gaming as it averages around 20 - 30% usage while gaming @ 1440p(granted the GPU is playing a huge factor in that). If it's in your budget to get one I'd say go for it.
Otherwise if you're looking for something less expensive, I'd suggest the Ryzen 5 2600 or the Intel i5-8400.

I think im going to get the 2600 AMD but any suggestions on the Motherboard?
