Firstly sorry if I have posted this in the wrong topic. I couldn't find a topic suitable for troubleshooting.

Okay so I turn my pc to sleep everytime I go to bed and I wake up to it being on. The time it turns on is between 5am-7am every day. I tried looking around for a solution and only found how to check how it was woken up.

If anyone could help it would be appreciated :)

Most likely Wake on Lan or the option to allow the NIC card to power on the PC is turned on somewhere. Then what happens is later at night when your router does an IP update the PC gets a single and says "Hey Hes talking to me and he is allowed to turn me on" So it turns on.

I had the same issue. I use to have WOL turnd on so that i could turn it on Remotely if I wanted too but I don't do that anymore.

So Lookup how to turn Off Wake On Lan for your NIC card and also go into Device Manger and then Open up your NIC card Properties

Then click on Power Management and Uncheck "Allow this device to wake the computer"

Should fix your issues. Its that or just turn it off. If you go into hibernate it will just do the same thing. I know lol

Uhh I don't think I have one of them cards... My ethernet is plugged into the motherboard...

So I Mine. This is for ANY KIND OF NETWORK CARD! Even USB, Firewire, Wifi, Hardware NIC, Ect.

Right click Computer, Go to Properties. If its Vista and Up click on Device Manger in blue in upper left. If XP Click on hardware tab and then Device manager. Go to Network Adapters and double click on your Network card. Click on Power Management Tab and then UNCHECK

"Allow this device to wake the computer"

then ok out of everything. Then let it sleep again over night and see if it turns on. THIS IS WAKE ON LAN. Some Older NIC Cards you have to go into BIOS or the Card settings and enable it and then also have a small 3 wire connector connected to motherboard. New PC don't need that.

Try that out and get back with the answer if it worked or not.

I tried it but my PC still turned on. Do you have any other suggestions?
