PC Wakes Up From Static Shock

So the past few days, I've been able to wake my computer up from it's Sleep state simply by touching a metallic part of my desk or anything metallic near the PC. A tiny static shock can be felt as the static discharges into the metal of the desk, and then the computer wakes up.

The actual computer itself is NOT touching the actual desk or any of the components that have been able to wake it up from the static.

What could be causing this, and is this something I should be concerned about?

Thanks!

Regardless of whether the computer is actually touching the desk, the charge from the shock is getting into the PC somehow.

Make sure your PC chassis is grounded. Use a multimeter. Set it to ohms. Put one probe on the PC with the PC off and plugged in. Put the other probe on a known ground (like a water pipe or the ground of another outlet that you know is a ground). You should see close to zero ohms.

Basically that charge is getting into your PC somehow and you don't want it getting in through the chassis.
