[SOLVED] PC was able to run Minecraft at 200fps+ but now is stuck at 30-50fps

I got a new ethernet connection, and now for some reason my PC isn't able to run Minecraft smoothly like before. I have a Nvidia GTX 960 and Intel i7 -4790 3.60 hz

Ethernet has nothing to do with that. Those parts are old, a 4-core CPU is not ideal. How much memory do you have? If it's less than 16 gigs, that may be your problem, as Minecraft loves to suck RAM.
