I have built a gaming pc that end up crashing on playing a game or rending a video when exports a video clip (Not always happpen and on the same video it can happen at any time for example its not always happening at the same %)
The spec of the PC is:
CPU - Intel Core i7 5820k Haswell-e
CPU cooling - Cooler Master Hyper 103
Motherboard - Asus X99-A
Ram - Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4Gb) DDR4- 2133
GPU - MSI Geforce GTX 970 4gb
PSU - EVGA 850w 80+ plus Gold
Hard drives - Sandisk Solid State 128 and WD 2tb
Operating System: Window 10

Game: Paragon - Video Editing software Abobe Premeir Pro

Message on Event Log - Kernal Power 41 (63)

I have tried to fix this issue on my own and even sent it to a computer company with no sucess. It will run fine all day unless I play a game or render a video. I have looked at the ram with the windows memory diagnoises with no issues found. Looked at the power plan to stop the sleeping of the hard drives (this was more for fixing a laptop but I thought why not) After doing this I did see a gernal improvment but not on the crashing side.

My last two thoughts where a problem with the PSU but from what i have researched im only using around 475 Watts. The other is CPU is over heating. on one preticular crash it was at 42C but on a stress test it went to 62C and had no crash.

Also done numerouse Maleware scans with no issues found.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Definitely not to do with CPU overheating.

Do you have a spare PSU to test your PC with?

The PSU seems like a reasonable answer, as it only crashes under load.

Is there any warning of it shutting down, or just it just crash and turn off completely.

It could be to do with the protection on the PSU, such as over voltage, over temp protection etc.

Thanks for repsonding xFeaRDom

I sadly dont have another power supply. Would you suggest a testing on a bigger PSU or Smaller?

There is no warning at all. The game works perfectly with no issue untill the crash. I get a horrible beeping noise through my audio (headset) and the display is frozen. It will keep displaying the last frame, I cant interact with the pc anymore. I can still hear the fans going around in the case. I need to press the power button to get it to restart.

Im not sure on the PSU over temp protection so im going to do some reading on this. If you have a link that be great.

Your 850W PSU is already overkill, it may just have developed a fault, and if it is in EVGA's warranty period I would recommend filing for an RMA.

You could test on a similar sized PSU, or you could probably do well with something like a 600W PSU to include a respectable headroom.
