I have pulled put a secondary drive from pc system, now it will not boot, no bios, no fans starting, only lights on the motherboard and the graphics card
I have reinstalled the drive in question,
I have removed the graphics card,
I have unplugged almost everything apart from the processor its heat sink fan and the drive with the operating system on it with no luck.
At first I thought (/hoped) it was the power supply, replaced that still nothing.
Can anyone suggest a next course of action/ what should I replace?
I suspect it is the motherboard (which is why this is under the motherboards section), am I correct?
Also what is a good way of testing to see whether or not a psu is working? I found the pin out for one of the motherboard connections on my psu and tried to measure using a multimeter set to voltage accross the 0V to the 3.3V and the 5V where it seemed like there was just a dead short accross it. Can someone explain to me what that is all about?
