PC will not boot up

Everything is plugged in correctly and running. When i hit the power button, the CPU light stays a solid red. Has anyone had this problem with this motherboard?? If so please help

Clearly there is a problem.

Having a red light or led lit on the motherboard only means or points to a few errors.

So here is the rought list of things to check Modifier.

1. The most common is that you may of forgot to connect the 12v eight pin EPS connector from the psu to the motherboard, sometimes the connector on the motherboard can be four or eight pins wide.

If not connected you will be met with a red led lit on the motherboard for cpu power, indicating there is a lack of power.
It is most commonly missed as the connector in question is often tucked away near or around the cpu socket of the board or the very top edge of the board or placed on the board between the main I/O ports of the board and between the cooling heat sinks attached to Vrm modules of the board for cooling of them.

2. The cpu has been fitted to the cpu socket in the correct orientation.
Both the triangle on the cpu and the socket should be lined up and in the same corner.

3. That the cpu cooler is firmly fitted and is making good contact with the cpu heat spreading plate of the cpu it`s self.

Try removing one stick of RAM and that all parts, cables, connectors are securely in place. Check that the cables connected to the PSU are secure as well, that can bite you like it bit me once.
