After selling my gaming pc to make some profit I decided to upgrade another computer which is an Acer Aspire M3970. I went and bought a gt 1030 (ZOTAC) since there was a pci-e slot. After that I realized that my pc will post but it will stay frozen on the windows 10 logo after the boot sequence finished. I updated my bios version to P03.A3, but it still didn't work. I saw on some forum that people have downloaded a modded version of their bios to support hardware compatibility. I took the risk and it finally worked. *I had 2 sticks of ddr3 2gb of ram*. Few days later, I realized that 1 ram stick died and so I am left with 1x2 stick of ram. Apparently the stick only works on the blue slots and not on the black one. I said to myself to do another upgrade with the ram, and I went and bought 4x2 sticks of ddr3 (1866mhz) ram (Patriot Viper). And to think that those stick would work on the blue slots at least, it didn't but with only 1 patriot viper stick installed into the slot it did work but I need all of the sticks to work as well. After some manipulations now non of them work and at random times it finally posts and most of the time it doesn't. (When it doesn't not post I can still see the fans spinning and led's on the motherboards).

System Specs:
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro

Ram: (presently) (1x 2 gb) (4x 2 gb)
GPU: Gt 1030 ZOTAC
Motherboard Chipset: H67 Express
Bios: (Modded) P03-A3

Solution
1) Freezing during Windows load: Likely cause RAM memory
2) RAM working on some slots & not all: Bad RAM, Dusty slots, BIOS corruption.
3) New RAM not working on all slots: Dusty slots, BIOS Corruption
4) After RAM manipulation computer posting at random times: Bad RAM, Dusty slots, BIOS corruption

• Bad RAM discarded with new kit
• Dusty slots discarded after two having worked and later none
• BIOS corruption likeliness has persisted...

Diagnose: BIOS corruption.
Possible Solution:
a) Try a BIOS Reset but it may need a

b) BIOS Recovery. Search the motherboard manufacturer for brand and model specific instructions for a BIOS Recovery, or for the PDF user manual and see if the instructions for a propper BIOS Recovery are included. If you can't find those instructions, try the following method.

Follow this reset procedure exactly.
1. Remove AC power or turn off the PSU
2. Remove the battery
3. Move the BIOS jumper to pins 2 & 3
4. Press and hold the power button for 60 seconds
5. Wait 10 minutes
6. Revert 1 through 3 and try the computer

Start with a BIOS reset and if necessary follow with a BIOS Recovery.
