Hello , i have a custom built windows 8.1 pc (intel and nivida parts) that i owned for a couple years now
. Then last night i got on it and noticed the screen was very pixelated and it was not frozen so i turned my pc off after trying to see if the video cord was secure. When it turns back on it looks normal...but quickly lags and freezes so i hold down the power button to turn it off and when i tried to turn it back on it simpy would not.

I tried making sure all cords were plugged in well , all power buttons were on , checked cable damage and the monitor was still on so im sure the surge protector was working.

So after giving up i go to bed and then check on my pc in the morning....and i find it ON! (WOOO!) and i am typing on it currently so it seems ok now....but what the heck happened?

My guess is that its to dusty inside my pc maybe? Hell i even got spider webs on the outside (its inside a garage). I am hoping its not a part i got to replace...but what do you guys think?

Check temps with HWmonitor. Post idle/load temps here. To get load temps download prime95 + furmark. Run each of those separately with HWmonitor open and keep an eye on the temps. If CPU gets above 80c turn off the tests, If GPU gets above 90c turn off the test. Furmark tests GPU and Prime95 test CPU. Have them run for atleast 10 minutes each. HWmonitr will give you a min/max temp.

I'd atleast open the case and see if it needs dusted. (probably)

HWmonitor results.
Cpu : 38-60c (99-138f)
GPU: 37c ( 98f)

and i think my motherboard says "tmpin2" Value,84c minimum 86c and maximum 99c.

Then i opened up a few games and skype and stuff and tested how it handled it, Here is the new temps.

CPU : 65c max.
GPU : 45c max.
motherboard says "tmpin2" Value 120c , max 126c.

Mother board confuses me cause there is like 8 temperatures. ranging from 28 , 60 and the 120 (and others in-between)

Well my windows 8.1 computer has been running fine since 2013 (until that one incident)...but i will post them just in case.
Oh and i got a physical cleaning done on it and it had a lot of dust inside it , so much that my main fan port seems stained by it lol. only got 99 percent of it off.
