Hey everyone,

I've had my computer for 5 years and it was working great until lately. For the past 2 months it crashes whenever I play certain games like Overwatch, Fortnite, and Rocket League. However, it doesn't crash when I play Minecraft. I changed my power supply unit from 550 watts to 450 watts a year ago, but the problem only started happening recently.

Here are my computer specs (through systeminfo):
https://pastebin.com/cXsbmg0S

  • I tried putting the computer under load (using unigine and cinebench) it can run for minutes and minutes up to an hour with no issues.
  • I tried putting memory underload (memtest), completed successfully with no problems.
  • The moment I start up a game like fortnite, it runs for a few seconds and then PC restarts.
  • I tried latest drivers (as of Feb/03/2023), random older drivers, both didn't work.
  • I don't really have a good power supply lying around, so I haven't yet tried a different PSU.
If you need any other info, let me know in the replies!

People upgrade their PSU, both in terms of quality and wattage, that line reads like you downgraded your PSU. What is the make and model of your unit?

As for your specs, you could've stated them like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU's apart from their makes and models.

Regardless, going through your URL;
Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
H310M A
BIOS Version: F2, 4/19/2018
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/H310M-A-rev-10/support#support-dl-bios
(provided your motherboard's PCB revision number is 1.0 and not 1.1), you have BIOS versions pending update. Once you've updated to the latest, we can move forward with other suggestions.
