Hi everyone for a start I have the following specs:
Asus P8H61-M LE R2.0 motherboard and it can handle maximun of 16GB of ram
Intel R pentium R CPU G2020 @2.90GHZ 64X based processor and it can handle maximun of 32GB of ram
ATI HD Radeon 4600 series
And a 2GB 2x1 corsair RAM DDR3 1333 (VS2GB133D3)
Win 8.1 pro 32bits
So it's a fairly acceptable pc, I use it for school and some games like payday 2, Fallout 3, Dota nothing that requires too much. But I wanted to add more ram So I bought another corsair ram of 4GB 4x1 (CMV4GX3M1A1333C9)
I know I shouldn't mix two different models but in the country I live it's all I can do... We aren't allowed to use more than 3000$ per year so I can't afford more.
My problem is that when I add the new ram the PC just won't boot the screen stays black but when I took it off the PC boots normally with the old ram. Both ram slots work fine since the old ram works well in the two.
But even if a try the new 4GB ram alone in any of the 2 slots the PC just won't run it doesnt even get to the bios screen...
I updated the BIOS to the latest and the PC turned on with the new ram but crashed at the initial screen giving me this error: BSOD KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED Windows 8.1
I searched and it seems like a virus but I don't really know beats me... And the new ram never booted again but if I put the old 2GB ram it boots nomaly.
I tried many things like resetting the BIOS, using different BIOS firmwares, taking out the CMOS battery, and nothing I just can't get it to work with the new ram? I'm starting to assume it's just faulty and nothing can be done but any suggestions? (The ram was new from the blister)
