Hi !
I am building a PC but I´ve encountered a issue where when I boot from my USB/CD I will hang on the windows logo (i've waited for 4 hours now )(https://www.dropbox.com/s/m9u82cqsckfxvh6/IMG_20160527_141330508.jpg?dl=0)
I have looked online for workarounds/fixes but with no luck yet.

What i've tried is using a CD instead of USB, Waiting a LONG time like 2 hours, formatting drives.
That's all I could think of, and also bios settings but couldn´t really find anything to help me.

Is there anything I could do?
I am trying to install windows on a pretty janky system with a socket 771 to 775 mod.
The 5.5` drive is making the reading noise but stops after about 5-8 minutes.

ANY help would be appreciated

You might run into some trouble doing that. I honestly don't know, but I would suspect that windows wont take well to a change of CPU socket type or even CPU after the fact. I think making sure the drivers you need are in the bootable media you have is the easiest solution. You might try booting from a rescue disc into a Linux environment just to make sure all your hardware is playing well together. UBCD or bootable Ubuntu might have the tools you need to check it out, and they usually have a broad enough array of drivers to accommodate most hardware.,
Hey, if you have successfully formatted your drives, you shouldn't be seeing that windows image unless you are booting a W10 install image. If so, make sure that the drivers in your install package are compatible with your systems configuration. The most common issue I run into is USB 3.0 drivers and a boot disc that lacks support for USB 3.0, but it could be any number of drivers that your boot disc is missing. See if you can slip them into your boot disc. With windows install packages this is pretty easy and there are tons of write ups about it. Just create a directory on another PC with all of the drivers you can find for your motherboard and hard drives (additional hardware is probably not causing this issue) and add them all into your bootable media. Otherwise, I think your motherboard may be malfunctioning or you socket mod could be causing problems.

Alright it might be a idea to swap the cpu back to a 775 cpu (i've got a E5400) install windows (if it works) and put the cpu back since it will be bound to the mobo it might work.
Else ill have to do it from a other pc and hope for the best and maybe add some netcode to a bios update.
