So basically, I got a new case the Core P3 Snow White and transferred all my old parts to the new case. In the old case, there were no problems with it but now it wont consistently boot and I have to trail and error until it boots. I feel like I’m missing something obvious or something else went wrong. The only things I can think of are my new cpu cooler the h150i or that I bent a few pins on my AMD CPU and when I bent them back it somehow messed things up. I do doubt the CPU being the problem only because it slid right in when I put it back but idk so that’s why I’m here. The weird part is sometimes it does boot but more times than not it doesn’t. Usually the time it does boot I let it run for a while then turn it off and then back on and viola instead of the GPU flashing it stays the solid color. The specs of my computer are AORUS GEFORCE GTX ti go-n108taorus x-11gd, Ryzen 7 1700, cpu cooler h150i pro, psu evga 650w platinum, ram g skill trident z RGB 16gb, and motherboard aorus x370 g5. Sorry for your trouble and thanks in advance!

Maybe the pins doesn't get in contact sometimes? your graphic card is obviously getting powered since it's flashing it's RBG. try to get a professional to look at your cpu or you could send me a picture of it (the pins).

So to summarize I got a new case and transferred my old parts into the new case (The core p3 snow white) and also got a new CPU cooler. When I try booting it up all the fans and RGB LED's turn on but the graphics card flashes the preset color I have it on instead of being static and the monitor doesn't show anything like I never plugged in the DP cable. The strange part is that it will boot but after a few tries and usually, I have to let the computer run for a little bit then turn it off and back on. The only things I can think of are that I bent the CPU pins a bit but I bent them back and it slid right in and it also still boots so I feel like that's not it. . . . the other thing I can think of is that I simply messed something simple up while building and that's causing the problem. My specs are as follows: CPU - RYZEN 7 1700 MOTHERBOARD - AORUS X370 G5, graphics card - AORUS GTX 1080 Ti, STORAGE - PNY 480GB, PSU EVGA 650w supernova platinum, case core p3 snow white, and CPU cooler H150i pro. Thanks for your help in advance and if need be I can link pictures of my build.

Your specs seems fine. Could you send me a image of your build?

Edit: or could you record when the graphic card flashes?

So I took out the CPU, snapped a pic but I don't know how to link an image but I noticed there was some gunk on it so I cleaned it out and the PC booted once done. It may have been a lucky break so I'll keep you updated. Thank you so much for your help I probably wouldn't have taken out the CPU if you didn't say so.

I'm glad we fixed the problem! Make sure to mark this thread as solved. :)

update: I just tried turning it on again and it still flashes but this time it flashes twice . . . don't know what to think of it. It took like 20 tries to boot it up and it's tedious. Are there any other suggestions and if you need a picture tell me how to link one and I'll be glad to.

Ok sorry for taking so long to post this. My forum was completely white and I couldn’t post on it on my iPad and when I went to pc it didn’t post like it just loaded and did nothing. Also, if I want to try a solution I have to turn my computer off for a few hours because once it does turn on it won’t do the flashing thing with the gpu if you turn it off and back on. This causes me to usually only test/try solutions the next day after I haven’t turned it on. I tried uploading a gif but it didn’t work. You can see the picture below is my pc and all the RGB lights are on default setting except for the gpu which is on pink, the color I chose. I tried uploading a gif but it didn’t work but basically the card would just go from pink to off for about 1.5 seconds. The wire hanging out the gpu is another vga cable going into it. I was using a splitter and I thought giving the card more power might fix the issue but it didn’t, but my cable mod cables are coming soon and I’ll pretty everything up anywaysso I just let it hang. Which leads me to another question being will the new cables fix the issue? I’m so sorry for the late reply and also would like to prevent this from happening so if I press reply and it just loads and then doesn’t do anything what should I do? Thanks for your time and understanding.

I just realized that the picture won’t upload and it says the post may have spam or inappropriate content and to contact an administrator. I go on gyazo and copy the first thing and it shows the picture but won’t post . . .

You've been using a splitter to power your graphic card? That's really bad.

Do you think it’s been damaged? If so is there anything I can do? I switched to using both probably a month ago and built the pc a year and a month ago.

That would be a bit strange if that actually damaged your card but no. Do not use splitters! Anyways you can buy a vga cable from amazon but make sure you chose the right brad. Example if you have a corsair power supply look after a vga cable from corsair. Remember a 8 pin connector which your graphic card probably have. Just check it just in case.

Ok when I bought my cables from cable mod I chose my psu brand and it should be fine. I bought 2, 8 pin pcie cables and the rest of the cables for other parts. (My graphics card uses 2, 8 pins) so do you think the problem is the cable and it will be solved soon?

Hey, another thing I’m noticing is that whenever my pc starts I have to run it for like 5 minutes. Do you maybe think that there’s a problem with the power supply? It kind of reminds me of like an old car in where you have to let the engine warm up for a while. I don’t know if this similarity means anything but knowing my card takes so much power it maybe got stressed with the new cpu cooler. I don’t know that much about power supplies so I thought it might be something like this.

Your cable should be fine. How old is your psu?
