PC won’t power on

i7 4790k CPU
MSI z97 gaming 5 motherboard
16GB Ram
Msi GeForce gtx 1070
250 SSD
3TB HDD
1050w PSU (I thought this may have been the issue and have been wanting to downgrade anyways. So now it’s a EVGA 650w)

So was on YouTube last night when suddenly my screens on my monitor went black. The headset was making a faint crackling sound but the computer wasn’t responding. So I did the obvious thing. I tried to turn it off and on again. Except it wouldn’t turn back on.

I tried different power cable, outlet, surge protector. Even giggling all the cables in the tower and outside. No luck.

I just went and bought the new PSU I mentioned above earlier. Installed it and plugged it into the MB. Again no luck. I probably picked the wrong time to do it but I decided to move everything into a new case that makes dealing with hardware issues easier. It’s way more roomier. Still I had issues when I only had the motherboard, PSU, and GPU in. I did one stick of Ram at a time as well and still no luck.

I’m desperate! I hate to have to go and buy a new motherboard but if I must I must. Does anyone have any other recommendations before I purchase a mother board?

try clearing cmos by taking out the battery if you haven't

see if it boots with just internal graphics, don't plug in the 1070

Tried that as well. Removing the lithium battery that is. I also tried unplugging the 1070 and no luck.

Yes very likely. You may have shorted something. Check if the mobo has any visible damage or burn marks on capacitors, chipsets, solder points, etc.

which cpu cooler and case fans do you use?
