Hey guys need some help haven’t been able to find anything else. I have an Aorus Master mobo with a Samsung 970 Evo NVMe M.2 1Tb with my operating system on it and everything working fine. I wanted to add more storage so I grabbed the Crucial MX500 1TB SATA M.2 and installed in on one of the slots on the mobo but my pc won’t recognize it. I tried removing it and reseating it and nothing. Is there something I’m missing? I plugged in an old harddrive I had an automatically showed up as one of my drives. Any help would get greatly appreciated. Thank you guys!!

M.2 connectors are labeled M2M/M2A/M2P.

If you choose where to connect a SATA M.2 drive randomly, then you have a 66.6% chance of choosing a connector it will work in. I suggest you try reading the instruction manual.

I checked the instructions manual and I have the Samsung NVme M.2 installed in the M2P slot and was trying to install the crucial in the M2A one. Why would one of them work and the others not?
