Hi i have a computer with an i7 8700 an asus b360-f gaming motherboard a gtx 1060 6 gb and an 850 watt power supply from corsair. My peoblem is that one day when i tried to start my computer the qled light for the dram would stay on and the computer wouldnt boot and it did not beep either . After some troubleshooting i realized that one of my 8 gb sticks was not working so i took it out and ran on 8 gb for 5 days till a new stick came when i tried to insert both of them in the slots a2 and b2 it wouldnt boot but if i put one at a time in the first slot it would . I am very confused as to why this happened and would love it if i could get some help.

Try booting with 1 stick in the slot that works, shutdown after the boot is complete.
Disconnect the PSU and discharge the board.
Add the second stick in, and see if it boots up post that.
Make note of error beep codes, if any.

Ram is sold in kits for a reason.
A motherboard must manage all the ram using the same specs of voltage, cas and speed.
The internal workings are designed for the capacity of the kit.
Ram from the same vendor and part number can be made up of differing manufacturing components over time.
Some motherboards, can be very sensitive to this.
This is more difficult when more sticks are involved.

Your ram is not properly matched.
If your motherboard bios allows you to specify ram voltage, try increasing the ram voltage a bit at a time. Sometimes that helps.

Otherwise, see if you can return the ram in favor of a matched 2 x 8gb kit.
