PC won't boot after upgrade

Just upgraded from an i5-4460 to an i7-4790k, and the PC boots for a second and turns off, any help is appreciated

I literally didn't touch anything other than the cpu cooler and the cpu itself, didn't unplug anything

Just cmosed it, turned on and everything worked, I went to plug the cpu metal thing into place and it slammed the motherboard and it turned off, now trying to cmos it same way and it doesn't work tried over 10 times...

Whats the mobo. It may need a BIOS update to support the CPU you installed

The PC doesn't turn on at all how am I supposed to update bios? It's an Msi h81m-p33 mobo

Well like I said it may have needed one. But you would have to install the old CPU to do it

Did you update the BIOS when the 4460 was installed?? The BIOS has to be 1.5 to support the 4790K

The latest BIOS on the site, is 1.9

Ok this is getting really weird, the PC boots up when i have the cpu in place but not clipped down, and now the keyboard and monitor aren't working or lighting up...

So BIOS 1.9 is on it now then ?

I honestly don't know, I'm having a different problem now, the PC boots up, but the keyboard and monitor aren't working. This happened to me a couple months back and had to get a new mobo...

Also, any small pressure that I apply to the thing that locks the processor in place shuts the PC off, so it only runs while it's open
