A friend of mine just built his PC. He used for around a day, turned it off and on a couple of times, everything worked just fine. Then he went away for a while, the PC turned itself off and he couldn't turn it on anymore. Had to unplug it and it turns on, but it doesn't post anymore. On the motherboard either every light except CPU is on, or, depending on which RAM slots are used, only the CPU light lights up. He already tried using a different CPU, reseating everything, resetting CMOS and he tried booting with just one RAM stick and so on. What else could he try? I'm out of ideas here.

Specs:
AMD Ryzen 5 2600
MSI B450-A Pro MAX
G.Skill Aegis 3200Mhz RAM
Xilence Performance X
GTX 1050

Solution
Remove the motherboard from the case.
Test the motherboard outside the case and see if it works.
Install the RAM modules on 2nd and 4th slots (counting from the CPU socket).
To power the motherboard outside the case, short the two power pins with a flat screwdriver.
What's the wattage on the Xilence PSU?
What's the RAM model?
Which PC case?
