Hey guys,

Today I received my new graphics card in the mail: the Gigabyte GTX 950 OC 2GB edition.

I was having issues installing it and was still bizzy with it when this really weird thing happend. I went to turn on the PC to test if it worked and it doesnt boot up. No windows boot loading screen, no signal on monitor, cant boot up bios. All the fans and LED's are working though. I also noticed when i turned on the PC i couldn't turn it off by holding the power button. To turn it off i have to turn off the power supply with the back switch... Oh yeah also, NO error codes or beeps at all. Just the sound of all the fans running and stuff.

So yeah IDK if i [watch your language] up something when trying to install my GPU but maybe you guys know anything about this and know what to do? :/

PC specs:

Motherboard: MS-7857
CPU: AMD A10-6700
GPU: Radeon HD8670D (integrated)
RAM: 10gb DDR3 (1x 2gb unknown speed 1x 8gb kingston 2400mhz)

Greetings,
Eli

Thanks for asking but I'm not asking for help installing the GPU (anymore, posted about that like 2hrs ago) but I literally can't boot up my PC anymore, neither on integrated graphics

Lol dude as I said I posted about trying to install the card earlier, but that was when I could still boot my pc...

Well if you have just been using the on board video solution of the motherboard Blazey.

The reason why the system does not boot, or post.
But instead just powers up and the fans spin of the system, and you get no video output or post screen on the monitor, or any bios beep error codes, audible sounds.

Follow the instructions bellow to get your system working right.

1. Check that you have connected the eight pin Eps 12v power connector to your motherboard from your power supply unit.

The connector on your motherboard can be found either near or around the cpu socket of the motherboard, or at the top edge of the motherboard looking at it fitted to the system case.

Or it will be found next to or near looking at the motherboard in the system case just behind the main I/O panel of the motherboard.

2. Make sure you connect from the power supply unit the required six pin 12v Pci-e power connector direct to the GTX 950 OC graphics card.

3. Now connect the video monitor lead to the video out put ports of the motherboard first of all.

4. Power the system up, and it should post, press the key to enter the bios setup of your motherboard Blazey.

5. Go to the section, or menu page of the bios options that deals with graphics display.
Where it says the default graphics device to initialize first, set the option to Pci-e or Peg mode.

Save the settings before you exit the bios Blazey.

Now swap the video monitor cable from the motherboard to the video out put ports of the GTX 950 Pci-e graphics card.
Restart the system once again by the reset switch on the system case.

If you did everything in the guide above, you should now get video from the GTX pci-e graphics card.

And the system should power up normally as it should just like before you fitted you new GTX card Blazey ok .

Post back let us all know how you got on, and if the system works right after checking all of the points I made above to check on your system.

If the system still does not power up right it is because you need a new power supply of at least 500W Blazey.

With the GTX 950 card fitted to the system it is likely the current power supply unit of 350W is not enough to power the system with the GTX 950 Pci-e graphics card fitted to the Pci-e graphics card slot of the motherboard.

No two ways about it Blazey if the case you need a better power supply as said of at least 500w.

For a good branded one at 500w you are looking at about £45 or more.

Nope, it doesn't boot without the GPU. I did change a bunch of settings in the BIOS regarding the new GPU tho, because of my on board graphics.. But now I can literally not boot up BIOS anymore aswell..

I have done all of that yesterday, including the PEG thing in the BIOS. Didn't work (FAN was running tho..). But now I went ahead to try this again and even the GPU's fan doesnt run... Now when I just like press the card a bit to make it fit correctly in the PCIE slot on my motherboard, the fans start running. But still cant boot up anything at all.

The recommended power supply for this specific card was 350W tho. This is the only reason why I even tried this on my PC. Could it not have completely broken my PC now tho because it doesn't have enough Watts? Or will it just not run the GPU if it hasn't got enough Watt?

I don't know about the amperage thing.. https://gyazo.com/d090e534777668d619991474e16a9e08 <-- thats a picture of my PSU with certain amperage stats too.. Is this an issue?

Yesterday before I went to bed I was thinking maybe it just has to do with the BIOS settings I changed, but this is very unlikely since my PC did still boot up without the nvidia GPU working yesterday... I tried clearing the cmos this morning but it didnt even work...
