Hi,
I did not install nor remove any component or device on my PC, it used to work as usual but suddenly it started not to boot.
All the fans inside of my computer does spin (the case, CPU, GPU and the PSU fan) and the light under the power button turns ON, but there's no beep sound coming from the motherboard; no display on the monitor either. Also the fans do spin louder and faster than normal.
Things I've tried:
-removing CMOS battery
-reassembling components (GPU, CPU, RAM, HDD etc.)
-unplugging all the external cables except the power cable, CPU fan, case fan, all of the internal cables except the necessary ones.
-trying different RAM slots
-running the PC with one stick of RAM (got 2 sticks, tried both of them separately)
-powering the PC directly from the wall instead of a multiplier.
-starting up the PC using the pins on the motherboard and not the power button
-running the PC without HDD, GPU, RAM, CMOS battery etc.
Result: None of them worked.
I even tried sitting the PC on idle for about 4 hours, with a small amout of hope, but it couldn't boot.
I have ZERO idea what caused this. I did not make any changes on the BIOS nor the hardware. I safely did shut it down from Windows and not like unplugging/turning the PSU off. Then once I tried to start it again, it couldn't boot.
NOTE: I do not have any other PSU, CPU or RAM to test them/spot which component is causing the problem.
Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3 (Rev. 1.1)
FX 6100
HD 6670
Kingston (2x4) 8 GB DDR3 RAM
TOSHIBA 500 GB HDD (7200 RPM)
Cooler Master 420W PSU
Thanks in advance.
UPDATE: I just tried shorting out Pin #1 and Pin #6 on M_BIOS chip (my motherboard has DualBIOS), I hold the wire on the pins for about 2 minutes, but the only difference was the CPU fan running slower/in normal speed meanwhile. As soon as I removed the wire, the fan turned back to spinning at full speed. Except the difference in fan speed; nothing much happened.
