PC Wont Boot Up But Was Working Fine Yesterday?

Hey guys,


So my PC was working fine yesterday during the day I went to the gym late last night and came back to find it not booting.

I slept on it hoping it'd be fine in the morning but same problem. I've had the same issue a few times now and normally it's a case of opening the case and making sure the cables are all fine - normally there is one loose and that does the trick.

All the cables are fine and it still wont boot. I've also unplugged certain cables from the PSU and the fan will start to tick and light on my motherboard/gpu with flash and stop again.

I've also tried removing the ram one by one but no change.

Please help me fix this, I need my computer running by tonight 🙁

It must be a case with your power supply or misplaced processor.
First verify that if your power supply is giving proper voltages or not.After that open the processor heat sink and open the processor and after cleaning the dust from there if any again fit it in(verify proper placement) and fit the heat sink again.
see if this works or not....
Also try to reset the bios by unplugging the power cord from pc and holding the power button for 30 to 60 seconds and again plugging the power cable...

How can I verify that the psu is giving correct voltages? And the CPU I have in my computer has a H100i cooler in rather than a heatsink I doubt it need to be reseated but I'll give that a try also. Any other suggestions?

I thinkk either your cpu psu or mobo died. If the cpu wasnt seated properly you would get more problems and just fixing the cables before wouldnt solve the problem. I think either your cpu mobo or psu has died. When you try to power on does anything happen do the fans spin a bit or anything?

I also have experienced this problem before and its mostly the problem with dead or misplaced processor....so first check the processor

For 20 years I only see 1 dead CPU I doubt it is that. Misplace processor maybe, if the CPU is overheat and MB shutdown the PC that could be ease seen in the BIOS. Most likely is your PSU or wireing if you dont have special tools you dont have a reliable way to check your PSU. My advice is if you could borrow some friend PSU and try to power on your PC.

P.S. How old is you PSU?

P.S. How old is you PSU?

My Corsiar HX1000i Is only year old so i figured that it probably wasnt that. Nevertheless I did some tests with what I could. I managed to get the PSU fan to spin using the 16/17 pin trick using a paperclip.

Any ideas? I have removed all cables but the 24 pin connector, removed GPU, RAM, SSD's, and HDD's - still not powering 🙁

UPDATE TO ALL:

I've removed everything but my CPU, Motherboard, and PSU - but still not powering on 🙁

I have done the PSU paperclip trick and it worked, and from what ive read that eliminates the PSU from being faulty.

Any ideas? Please!

if you have another processor try porting it and see if this works.....

The trick whit the paperclip is not a real test that only show you if you PSU is not total broken. Even you have volt meter to check the output voltage are correct you dont have a way to measure the amps w/o some consummate. The test you could to to confirm your PSU is working is to power other PC pref close configuration to yours. One more think when you try to power your PC is there any sound from you MB speaker if you have one if not get one. That could lead you to your fail part.
