Kingston Fury 32 (16x2) sold as 3200 Mhz CL 16-18-18. A google search says it 16-20-20 when checking the numbers on it. They clock in at 2400 Mhz. Tried to set them at XMP 1, 16-20-20 at 3200, but the pc boots back in safe mode and bios said settings needs to be set back. Then read that it's recommended to have them in alo A2+B2. Saving with BIOS default and the pc won't boot at all.
Had to set them back in A1+B1and with XMP settings 16-19-19 it boots, but clocks in ad 3000 Mhz. Still 200 short. But as mentioned, 16-20-20 A1+B1 boot error and 16-20-20 in A2+B2, no boot at all. Pc starts though and there are lights in the ram chips.

I don't think the sellers not always aware what they actually shi.

Does it boot ok with just one stick?
(Place it in the Dimm2 slot first to try each one seperately and check speed and timings)

What is the make/model of your motherboard?
What is the make/model of your ram kit?
CPU-Z will tell you.

What channels does your motherboard manual say you should install 2 sticks in?
Asus Prime Z690-F Wifi, Kingston Fury DDR4-3200 (Bios says 2400Mhz)
Looked at the purchase and the website says CL 16-18-18, but the number on the RAM and website don`t match and a quick search on the part number says its 16-20-20
Guess base speed are 2400Mhz and that 3200Mhz that are advertised is the OC speed.
He has been running his setup in A1B1 slots. He has been wondering why 3200 wouldn`t work.
So we tried setting XMP1 and 16-20-20 at 3200, boot fails and starts in safe mode.

The funny thing, is that he didn`t know better at the time. But Asus manual recommend slot A2B2, but then it won`t boot at all, no nothing. Bios set to default.
The only way we could get some sort of OC was setting XMP1 profile 16-19-19, then he got it up to 3000Mhz. But still, bothers me that the other slots don`t work.

I`ve also ordered an upgrade for my youngest son, but AM5 platform, and dissapointed to find out that the cpu supports 5600Mhz ram, when the manufacturer marks the chips with the OC speed. So at default, he probably won`t get 5600Mhz out of them. (But it`s completely hopeless getting RAM in this country now. 6000-6400 RAM are late december/january)

Asus Prime Z690-F Wifi,
Kingston Fury DDR4-3200 (Bios says 2400Mhz)
So is it Asus Prime Z690-F Wifi ?
or Asus Prime Z690-P Wifi D4 ?

First one is DDR5 board and can use DDR5 only.
Second one is DDR4 board.
So we tried setting XMP1 and 16-20-20 at 3200, boot fails and starts in safe mode.
