I recently replaced my very old 115GB SSD with a new 2TB SSD, so I transferred all my data (including windows) from my old SSD to my new SSD using a software called Macrium Reflect. Since all my SSD/HDD spaces in my case were in-use I had to take out one of the HDDs for the data transfer between the two SSDs. After the data transfer was done I took out the old SSD and built in the new SSD in the slot of the old one.
The PC booted like a charm and after some setup, everything worked as intended. Windows worked on the new SSD and I had a backup on my old SSD.
HOWEVER, once I shut down the computer and built the old HDD into the slot I took it out of, the PC doesn't want to boot anymore.
After looking around in the BIOS I found out that it removes the "Windows Boot Manager" option in the BIOS once I built in my old HDD, which is the option I need to boot from.
Once the Windows Boot Manager is removed it isn't displayed for the SSD anymore, even if I take the HDD out of the case again. To fix this I need to remove the old HDD, exchange the new SSD with the old SSD again, go into the BIOS, select Windows Boot Manager and boot the PC with it, shut the PC down, built out the old SSD and insert the new SSD again, go into the BIOS with the new SSD and now I'll be able to select the Windows Boot Manager again and start the computer.
If I try to boot the computer from the SSD directly without the Windows Boot Manager option, it simply won't work.
I am really dumbfounded as to why the PC doesn't want to boot anymore with the HDD, especially since I used the HDD with the old SSD beforehand.
I formatted the HDD before building in the new SSD, so it shouldn't be a problem with any of the files on it.
The HDD is also recognized by the BIOS, as I can see the name of it displayed there.
I hope anyone here can help me with this problem, as I am really stuck at this point.
I can provide pictures of the BIOS or anything else that might be needed.
