Hi.
It would be great if someone can shed some light what is going on.
Right,my desktop runs completely fine without the graphics card installed, like it can boot windows and etc.
When I install the graphics card onto my motherboard the computer does not even boot up. The motherboard gives me a q-code of A0 "IDE initialization is started" and is stuck on with that.

The spec of the pc
ASUS MAXIMUS HERO VII
Intel Core i7-4770k
EVGA GTX780
CX750 PSU
2 X 8GB 2133MZ RAMS

All help is appreciated
Thank you all very much :)

Hi Suztera!
Thank you for your reply. Yes all the 6/8pins are covered and connected to the psu. The computer still gives a blank screen and won't boot.

Hi Darthutos.
Thank you for your reply. Just given that try but no luck.
Cheers
And yes, it stucks on A0.

HI!
Well I had these items for a while till I decide to put them all together.
I just tried with another graphics card, the system does not boot either. I don't know if this helps, the computer freezes? like i press the power button it has no effect at all.
Cheers

at this point we know
1) all x16 slots make no difference
2) changing graphic card makes no difference

you can get take off the heatsink and take out the cpu. is there anything at the back side of the cpu / black marks? on the cpu slot of the mobo, is there any bent pins?

Thank you for your reply
Hmm the computer is working fine, I am using it reply to you on it now 😛.
I guess we can conclude everything is working fine except when the gpu is installed.

that is true 😀. I don't know is it relevant but does setting up a gpu need any bios set up or something in that field. I didn't do any all I did was just slot it in 😛
Cheers

the bios/uefi should have something like default video and you should choose pcie instead of integrated. Although it should be automatic when you put gpu in. and the system should not refuse to post and should not give out a error light A0 even if there is no display on monitor.

It were my system it would be a annoyance that keeps gnawing at me and I want it fixed.

Literally same :/ just no idea and left with not able to install the gpu.
Hey man thank you for all the help, appreciate it.

I finally figured out what was wrong. Confession time... I didnt plug the hdmi onto the gpu whereas I left it on the hdmi located at motherboard...
A0 is a normal Q-code when pc is in use
