Hi I ran into a bit of a problem today when i reset my motherboard settings to default , before that everything was running smoothly CPU at stock and the Ram running at XMP ,but after i reset the bios to default and then went back in to enable XMP it suddenly wont boot which is weird since I had it running at xmp for a while now, i tried many things including updating the bios ,manually overclocking, switching the slots, and I was able to pin it down to one of the ram sticks not being able to reach 3000mhz. Why did it behave like this and is there anything i can do about this , Thanks in advance

Edit: 2666mhz is the max frequency the "bad" kit can reach the other one works fine at 3000. What prompted this to happen? I only reset bios to default

Gigabyte Aorus B450 pro
Ryzen 5 2600
Corsair vengeance RGB pro 2×8 3000mhz C15
RX580

Weird indeed. But unfortunately electronic circuits on microscopic level may occationally fail all by itself.

This lead you to two options:
  • Continue to run without xmp enabled.
  • Try to RMA the ram sticks (you've good arguments of degradation)
