A month ago my pc wouldn't turn on and I thought it was the CPU so I got a seperate new motherboard and tried my parts in it and see if it would turn on but I didn'tso I sent it back to intel for an rma and I got my new CPU today and I put it in my new motherboard it turns on so I take it out put it on my original motherboard and it doesn't boot so I thought by motherboard also died so I put my stuff back in the new motherboard and the fan turns on then off and I thought the power supply bought I tried the power supply on a different pc and the pc booted and I was wondering if my CPU died again because I'm really pissed right now. I'm pretty sure it's not my ram because I tried it without it and it did the same thing and when u would remove my CPU and the computer turned on as it is not my gpu because I tried to turn it on without it. PLEASE HELP ASAP!!!

Humm...I've just noticed in your setup that your power supply has only 550 Watt? Just your graphic card will require at least a 350/400 Watt power supply, if you have more components than usual (say two HD and two optical drives or any more components or peripherals draining energy) that could be a problem, but I'm just guessing...it's hard to figure out the problem this way....
It's possible you have a problem not in your RAM but in your ROM. Have you tried to reset the BIOS? Some motherboards have a jumper to reset the BIOS but you can simply take of the battery (a small one, like in a watch) for a few minutes and then turn it on again...I had a similar problem a few months ago and I found out it was the BIOS that wasn't working well, it didn't recognize any of my hardware so it wouldn't boot, when I turned my computer on I only got a black screen...resetting the BIOS worked for me (also check if the battery has died).

Normally when you have a bad RAM or CPU, you'll get beeps from the board warning you of a faulty hardware (google it to find the beeps code meaning). Also, if you can access the BIOS menu, turn on the "on screen diagnose" (disable the logo splash screen) so you can see the hardware that the BIOS is recognizing or not (if you're certain that the hardware is really working well I would also check and clean every connector and check all the cables too).

It's a tricky problem to solve...try to to keep calm and go step by step until you find the origin of the problem...
