PC Won't Display On Start Up

My pc has recently been having problems on start up. It will not display anything despite being on, and the monitor does recognize its in put. It changes from a "Check signal cable" error message to a "No signal" error message. This has been happening for a while, but previous to today and yesterday it would start up occasionally. During these times, however, it would randomly crash and not display again. Help?

I had a ton of display issues with my build. To fix all of my problems I plugged every possible display cable into my pc (and then into my monitor of course). Then I booted the PC in "Low Resolution Mode". I then checked all of the different inputs (for some reason it initially displayed with DVI and when I went into low res mode it started outputing to my HDMI...weird right?) Anyway, after finding the new display signal I proceeded to download and instal every possible software/driver update I could get my hands on. However, I do recommend installing updates that don't force a restart. Also, most updates that require a restart will ask you first...always click NO. After you have as many possible updates installed without having to reboot the pc...you will NOW proceed to reboot. After that I had to go back in with low res mode and do the process again (with even new updates this time).

Turns out my problem was that my graphics driver didn't support my mobo or something. But to get the update I had to install a previous update beforehand...that update required a reboot, which for some reason always screwed everything up...don't know why low res mode fixed it.

Also, If you get it working you should be able to change the graphics properties after booting in low res mode initially.
