PC froze and crashed randomly yesterday with green pixelation and distortion and 1 quick beep. Everything works fine when I use my integrated graphics but when I insert and try to use my nvidia card it gets up to the mobo splash screen and restarts itself. I can launch with safe mode but that goes just does the windows startup repair thing and goes on for ages, I stopped trying after 30 minutes. The screen is still distorted while it does that. I didn't change anything on my PC for this to happen, and I've had this card for over a year.
Any help is appreciated!
edit: I should add that over 2 years ago my previous GPU (gtx 770) ended up randomly catching fire one day about 6 months after I built my PC. Since then I haven't had any issues with my new GPU that I got to replace it (gtx 780). Do you think the two incidents may have a connection? Maybe some issue with the pcie slot? Thanks.
specs:
i5 4570 3.4GHZ
GTX 780 WINDFORCE OC 3GB (Gigabyte edition)
8GB 1600MHZ CORSAIR VENGEANCE
CORSAIR CX750M PSU
AsRock Extreme3 z87 Motherboard
Operating on Windows 7

Solution
It seems the problem is either the gpu or pcie slot, if your motherboard has another pcie slot, connect gpu to that and see if it works,if their isnt another port, check on another computer,if it doesnt work the gpu is faulty,if the gou works its the pcie slot
Good luck
