Hello,
I've recently experienced my PC BSOD and shut down over the last two days. I've had my system for about 8 years. At this point it won't boot up. If I unplug the PS and drain the capacitors and power on it powers the PC for a few seconds - sometimes until "Overclocking Failed" - and then shuts the system off. I've tried another PSU which powers the PC continually but doesn't post video. I'm wondering does my RX1000x have some sort of shutoff feature or is it perhaps faulty? I fear my mobo has gone since I'm not getting any video posting.

Right now I'm testing with just the CPU, PSU, GPU and I've tested without ram, and then with 1 stick in multiple slots.

System build:

Sabertooth x58
i7 970
64gb Corsair Vengence RAM
Corsair RX1000x 1000w PS (Powers on then off)
OCZ 700w PS (Powers on and stays on but still no post)

Thanks!

Specifications for that motherboard are: 6 x DIMM, Max. 24GB memory.

I imagine your problem has something to do with the 64gb Corsair Vengence RAM.

I would recommend you clear the CMOS and install a single triple channel kit.
i7 970 uses Memory Types DDR3 800/1066

Crucial 6GB Kit (3 X 2GB) PC3-8500 DDR3-1066MHz non-ECC Unbuffered CL7 240-Pin DIMM Memory Mfr P/N CT3KIT25664BA1067

I had a hard time finding anyone still selling DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory.

It has been running stable for the past year no problem. Why would it start acting up now? Secondly, why would I get no post at all without any ram or with a single stick in?

**Update**

I did a paperclip test on the PSU and it powers on temporarily then off, so I believe it's faulty and will RMA it. That said, I also believe it fried my MOBO as a backup PSU won't give any post either.
