Question PC wont post or boot with a new CPU Installed.

Hello, I recently bought a Xeon x3450 for my GA H55M UD2H (rev 1,3). But it will not post or boot. If I take out my GTX 970 the pc turns on and all the phase LEDs turn on but that's it. With the GPU, the computer just turns off and on over and over. I was using an I3-540 and that works fine. My BIOS is the latest version, I reset the CMOS and changed the battery but still nothing. The new CPU is compatible as it states on the Gigabyte website. Any ideas?

No, I haven't, do you really think that would make a difference? I'll try it and see what happens I just hope it doesn't ruin my current I3 540 Usage.

Yeah works perfectly fine no problem, I don't mind the 540 but its a big bottleneck on the 970 especially on games like csgo which I play quite a lot.

That's what I'm thinking, it is a used Xeon. I mean it looks in good condition and everything but I know that doesn't mean too much. I just don't want to give up so soon before sending it back. I'm gonna try going back to F9 bios and if that doesn't work then ill send it back I guess, try to get another one or just save for a new better i7 or something.

Just tried the F9 BIOS and the same thing happens, tried resetting CMOS, without a graphics card, with graphics, different battery, etc. The i3 still works fine. I'm just gonna send it back I think and try to get another one to try.
