Hi there,

I have an Asus Prime B550-Plus Motherboard with two sticks of Corsair VENGEANCE LPX DDR4 3200MHz rams installed. Yesterday I overclocked the rams and since then my PC is not posting. when I power the PC on, all the fans starts I hear 1short beep, then pause a few seconds later 1 long and 3 short beeps, then restarts, again 1 short beep, then pause a few seconds later 1 long and 3 short beeps, then restarts and it keeps on again and again.

I'm not sure if this issue indicates a RAM or GPU problem.
I have to mention that my CPU is Ryzen 3700X and GPU is an old Nvidia GT 610.

What I've done so far is clearing the CMOS by shutting down the PC, unplugging the power cord, removing the CMOS battery and shorting the clear CMOS jumper pins by a screwdriver and still no results.
I'm afraid if my Motherboard is broken.

please help me on this issue?
please let me know if you need me to provide you with more information.
thanks in advance.

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model.

In order to clear the CMOS, you're advised to disconnect from the wall and display, then remove the CMOS battery, press and hold down the power button for 30 seconds to drain any residual power and then replace the CMOS battery after 30 mins.

I'm afraid if my Motherboard is broken
If your board is broken, the you have an option to recover your BIOS;
page: 2-4, section: 2.4, Asus CrashFree BIOS 3
or follow this guide;

Oh, sorry. My system specs are as described below:
CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X
CPU cooler: Green Notus 400 ARGB
Motherboard: Asus Prime B550-Plus
Ram: Corsair VENGEANCE LPX DDR4 3200MHz 2x8GB
SSD/HDD: Swordfish M2 250GB/Seagate BarraCuda 2TB
GPU: Nvidia GT 610
PSU: Green 350W
Chassis: Green Pars Evo
OS: Windows 11
Monitor: Asus vx279h
PSU worked less than a year.

Until last night everything was working fine. I had successfully overclocked ram from 3200 16-20-20-38 to 3600 18-22-22-42 but I wanted to try 3400 16-20-20-38 and this happended.

I tried to clear CMOS exactly as your instructions but still the same beeps. I tried to recover bios with Asus CrashFree Bios 3 but system is not reading the USB. just one short beep like every time that system worked fine and a few seconds later one long beep and 3 short beeps and restarts.

It wasn't the first time that I had tried to overclock ram and any time I set an incorrect frequency and faced such a problem (no posting) I solved it by clearing the CMOS.

I'm not sure what's wrong this time.

Have you checked the beep codes in the manual or on the internet?

Each motherboard manufacturer tends to use a common set of beep codes for all their boards. Hence the beep codes for another Asus board probably apply to your board.

The beep code I sometimes hear tells me I've forgotten to install a working GPU.

Yes, the codes are either ram failure or GPU failure. The thing is I've tested the GPU on another PC and it's working however I don't have another PC with DDR4 ram slots to check the rams.
Now I remember that since yesterday, I had to restart the system for several times and each time the system failed to post and I had to plug out HDMI cable and plug it in again so that monitor displays something.
So can it be something related to GPU?
Also I have to mention that every time I reset the bios, the system automatically made some changes to bios setting so that GPU can post. I'm not sure what the setting were about but I think it was related to some kind of UEFI settings.
What I'm concerned about is why bios is not detecting and not changing anything right now.

I removed the ram sticks and it resulted in 1 long and 2 short beeps. without restart. Then I replaced the rams and removed the GPU and the result was 1 long and 3 short beeps and restart and so on.
So I think the problem has something to do with GPU but I have no idea what it is.
Last week I updated the bios to version 3002.
can updating bios make such a problems?
