PC won't post after connecting GPU to PSU, but if I disconnect the GPU from the PSU it will work through the integrated graphics and work fine otherwise.
When plugged into the GPU the fans on the GPU spin.
Components:
Core i5 2400
MB: MSI h67/e35 b3
PSU: Antec Truepower 550w
GPU MSI R7 370 2GB
8Gb RAM
Win 7 64bit, recently re-installed on an SSD
My guess:
Either PSU can't handle the load, or the MB/BIOS doesn't like graphics card and integrated graphics together. But previously had a graphics card installed and it worked fine. Then the GPU stopped working and I switched to integrated graphics.

Thanks for reading and any help

Are you connecting the monitor to the graphics card (not motherboard), when card installed?
If yes, and still no signal, have you tried updating the board's BIOS, if newer version available?
Take care that a failed BIOS flash might render the board unusable.

Thanks for reading and replying Alexoiu
Yes, I have tried connecting to the GPU but with the same result.
Have not tried updating the BIOS as I don't want the risk of stuffing up the board.
I think I will try reseating the RAM and will try the GPU in a different slot.
At the end of the day, I intend to build a new system in a year or so, and the GPU only lets me play the occasional game, so can live without it for a year.

Do check the warranty dates for the MSI R7 370 2GB. It might still be in warranty, in which case you can just get it replaced.

Agree with reseating the card and trying another slot. Also, if your PSU has modular cables make sure the PSU end of the cable is firmly seated.

Are you getting any beep codes or other MB diagnostics.... or is the PC actually failing to post with the GPU installed ?

Thanks tsnor
Checked the cables and they are all fine. Have tried different rails (? connections on the PSU) too. Fans are spinning on the GPU, so looks to be getting power.
No beep codes at all, so I thought that it is failing to post.

"..No beep codes at all, so I thought that it is failing to post..." That means a post fail.

Sure seems like the video card. And its a bad time to be getting a card with the tail end of etherium mining still killing the prices of video cards.

Do you have any other PC where you can swap the card to rule out your current MB and PSU before you buy another video card ?

Thanks again
No other PC but not too fussed as I plan to build a new system in a year or so and will use the R7 in it for a year or so.
Will have a muck around with it on the weekend and see how it goes.

Thanks to tsnor and Alexoiu
Concluding that the PCie slot is broken as the most likely issue.
Since the PC works perfectly well when the GPU isn't connected to the power supply.
Did check the BIOS and it was already switched to PCie Graphics and the RAM was recognised.
Could possibly be the GPU but had a similar issue with the old GPU, which I thought meant the GPU was broken but now seems likely that wasn't the case.
Thanks to those who read and the Tom's hardware community.
